Young Lohana Association North London

Formed in 1974, as a part of the Lohana community North London (LCNL),

It stands independent body, and is governed by its own constitution and its own managing committee.

The Committee takes responsibility for ensuring that the Association's aims and objectives are fulfilled within the regulatory framework of the constitution itself. Despite the fact that the Association caters primarily for the youth of North London the extent of its activities is greater and broader than the activities of many other Mahajans throughout the nation.

The Executive Committee strives to offer functions and events not only to the membership but also members of the Lohana Community generally on a broad range of aspects ranging from the more popular social functions to educational and cultural events and sporting competitions and contests.

The Association encourages its members to participate in the events and activities of the Lohana Community more broadly and members of the Executive Community have taken an active part in events organised by the LCNL and the Lohana Community United Kingdom. The Committee is generally favoured with considerable respect and support from both these organisations.

Membership of the Association is open to individuals between the age of 16-35 at annual membership rates reflecting only the cost of administration and postage. Whilst the Association is in essence a non-profit making organisation it has in past years successfully generated substantial sums for the benefit of charities. The Association by its very nature evolves form year to year with the ideas and insight of new committee members. Elections are held at the end of spring each year and with the elections comes a fresh burst of energy, talent and inspiration and it is this ability and the inertia of the youth of our community that has transformed the Association from a sub-committee into an independent organisation with an excellent track record.
