06-04-1986 Sri Lanka won the second Asia Cup by defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final at Colombo. India did not participate due to security reasons.
18-04-1986 Pakistan won the first Australasia Cup at Sharjah by defeating India in the final by one wicket. Off the last ball of the match, Pakistan needing four runs, achieved a famous victory when Javed Miandad hit a six off the bowling of Chetan Sharma.
