It was the auspicious day for Shri Talaksinh Kotak and Shrimati Saraswatiben Kotak, in 1962, when they were blessed with a son. Though a poor farmer who was staying in a rented room costing 14 rupees a month in the small village called Radhanpur, the father was determined to make something out of his son, whom they named Pravin.  Little did they know that he is going to be exactly like his name suggests.'

"Pravin in Gujarati or Sanskrit means well versed, which he has proved time and again, not only in the business, but being a humanitarian as well."

As a child Pravin had to face a lot of difficulties, some as hard as going without proper clothes or footwear as well as giving up play in lieu of working in the farms with his father at the tender age. He did his primary schooling in Radhanpur and then at Disa. When he was 8, fighting through a lot of obstacles, the family moved to Ahmedabad in 1970, where Talaksinh started a small cloth business.

The business through dedication and hard work soon got rolling and later on he got all his relatives involved in the business as well as getting everyone to become financially stable. Pravinbhai was forever surrounded by the good wishes and preaching of his parents, who he believes were the kindest souls he has ever known, and from them he learnt the lesson of giving at a very tender age. The family believed in "Thoda ma Thodu Aapo, Bahu ma Vadhu aapo" meaning "Give little when u have little, lots when u have more."

And as is the way of life, what goes around comes around, the business boomed, and soon they were diversifying into gas agencies, and the money-lending business i.e. Shroff. Finally, when the son joined father in business, with his dedication, his keen business mind, the golden period started.

Hard work has them at the helm of many successful businesses, some of them being J.P.Gas Agencies, Laljibhai Daleharam Cloth Merchant, and the biggest "Shroff Pedhi J.P.Shroff ", also firm of Building Construction that has built many a high rise and beautiful structures, under the banner of J.P.Builders.

Though being successful in business was the main goal for a man who was forced to leave studies because of having to helping his father in business, Pravinbhai always wanted to give something back to the society he was coming from. The cultural heritage of the country, not only his community, always held a special place in his heart and he had a dream of doing something for it.

Right from the beginning, when he was a teenager, he has been involved in community services in the surrounding villages of the Banaskantha region. He was the leader of several educational and religious activates.

A true aesthetic, he was recognized for his absolute loyalty and dedication by the Chief Minister who put him in charge of the Pavitra Yatra Dham Vikas Board of Gujarat
.

This Board  handles the 6 various Yatra Dhams of the state
.
Taking care of the smooth running of these places, as well as making use of the latest technology with traditional vibrancy, he has won the hearts of millions of people old, young and children, all of who go to these Yatra Dhams, and bless the soul who has made their meeting with God so easy and comfortable.

The Dhams being Dwarka, Somnath, Girnar,Dakore,Ambaji and Palitana, He organizes and supervises personally each and every function, or festivity that takes place in any of the centres, Providing not only comfort to the pilgrims, but also making them want to come again and again.

Never was the road so easy for them. During major functions like the Purnima Mela, Shivratri, etc. he arranged for the festivities to be telecast LIVE on television all over these cities, and gave each and every Bhaktjan (Figuring about 15 to 20 lakhs) easy access to the festivities. At every corner of the city, there was a television set, showing the pooja and kirtan going on in the temples far away. We can only wonder how many blessings of the old, women and children, he must have obtained.

Next on his agenda is an even more outstanding and thoughtful plan, to provide taxi services to senior citizens, in affiliation with the Gujarat Tourism
. He plans to cater to an air conditioned Luxury Bus to travel to and fro to all Yatra Dhams at very reasonable rates, especially for those who cannot afford to travel and also provide them with assistants and volunteers at each place to take them around and get them the "Darshan". Along with this there is another project under the banner of Akhil Gujarat Janhit Seva Trust, to set up a 500 cottage Shantidham, where services like a five star hotel will be provided to everyone. The suggested place is on the Dakore Highway, which is nearer to the airport, railway station, and so will give easy access to International as well as the national pilgrims. Writers, Kathakars and Poets will be sharing their knowledge with the visitors, whilst the pious presence of Saints and Godly souls, will cater to the Spiritual enlightenment.

Talking about his social cultural activities would keep us confused for shortage of space. As he is actively associated with a surfeit of associations, all of which receive equal and active participation from him. He is currently involved with the following organizations:
