Mr.Mukesh Thakkar

Mrs.Hansaben Thakkar

"There is a lot of pollution today in the world, some of it being noise pollution, water pollution or even sound pollution. The most harmful is the Thought pollution, if we remove that, and work towards the betterment of the mind, I believe that the world will definitely be a better place to live ". These words are spoken from the heart, strong feelings felt and determination was evident in each and every word, as Mr.Mukesh Thakkar, a young and upcoming businessman of Ahmedabad, expressed them.

His father Ambalal Thakkar, and mother Anandiben, originally from Pithai near Kapadvanj, moved to Ahmedabad for better opportunities in the early 40's and started a small timber business, which flourished due to their hard work and consequently they could provide for their children's education.

Mukeshbhai, always his parents favourite, but strong willed and pious heart from the start, was always good at studies and cleared graduation in Commerce without any hassles.

He started working as a commission agent in Textile processing machineries and equipments, and in the 12 years that he has been working, his business is booming at the very height, which proves that hard work never fails anyone

Married to Hansaben, an Arts graduate from Rajkot, he is the father of 2 children, Rajiv(17) and Dhawni (16). Both of whom are brilliant students. Rajiv is also a good dancer, who takes part in lots of dance competitions and programs hosted by his dancing school.

Though the children are allowed to follow their hobbies at will, and encouraged at every possible stage, they are also made to understand the need of good education and it is always given the first priority.

Mukeshbhai is a good businessman with a kind heart, and is also working towards the upliftment of the social and cultural upliftment of today's youth. He stresses the thought pollution spread across by the media, and wishes to provide the future generation means and ways to spend their time constructively instead of just watching TV and playing games.

He insists that his children join him in each and every function, know about the traditions they come from, and help him follow the path he has chosen for himself. A spiritualist by nature, he enjoys reading books on religions and Tatva Darshan (philosophy).

His favourite authors are Daulatlalbhai Desai, and Rameshbhai Oza who are philosophers and spiritual leaders. He is also a great fan and follower of Shree Sachitananad. He is the one who believes in what goes around, comes around, and what little he has, he shares with the needy.

He is very much a supporter and active member of the Lohana community of Ahmedabad, and also the Akhil Gujarat Lohana Samaj. He started actively taking part in the cultural activities in 1989, starting with the Lohana Milan, a cultural group established by some young blood, bent upon making a difference within the community. He came in contact of Shree Pravinbhai Kotak, and many others, who have since then tried to make the community gatherings a pleasurable experience.

Being at a key post of General Manager of a large Textile Group, he was also a very influential person and was able to take advantage of his position. He has been the secretary of the Lohana Milan for the past three years, working hand in glove with the team members to organize functions like Melas, Navratri and Other activities like picnics and youth gatherings.

He has been a key person to open up the "Him Jaldhara" a cold-water house, in Hirapur, on the Dakore Mahemdabad Highway. He remembers the Vedic preaching, " 1000 quenched throats, give out the blessings of 1 Yagna". Needless to say, the parab is widely used, and was much needed. They have set up a smaller parab for animals too.

His message to the younger generation is "Our elders left us with a heritage which we should be able to carry on, increase, maintain as well as the unity in ourselves should be strong. Believe in humanity and building relationships and Help when help is needed, without questions."

In the future, his agenda is a noble plan to start a medicine cell, which will offer free medicine to everyone who is a member of the cell. He proposes a nominal fee for those who can afford and from that collection helps those who come to the cell for help by providing all the facilities for free. The idea being to give the downtrodden people easy access to expensive medical treatment for the want of which, many people suffer a long and sad end.

He wants each and every one to share his work, and is inviting anyone who wants to be involved to contact him at:
