Lohana
settlement in Bombay dates back to the early rule of The East
India Company, when Bombay (now Mumbai) was a small fishing
village on the West coast of India facing Arabian Sea. The
land surrounding it was under Maratha influence and was ruled by
descendents of Shivaji Maharaj, a great patriot.

called 'Bababhai',

cotton king of Bombay. Bababhai's birth was not
celebrated as a family occasion but as a joyous occasion of
Ghatkopar neighbourhood as wished by his pious mother Elba.
He passed his childhood very happily in a well-cultured family
environment of the neighbourhood. Side by side there was also a competitive
atmosphere of 'survival of the fittest'.

Merchants Chamber, Bombay.
