What made you start Tantric Club?

As a single Asian professional, I was finding it extremely difficult to juggle the demands of a successful career with my growing desire to meet a suitable partner. Sure I was introduced to people through the 'family network', but most of the time I had nothing in common with the other person and the community connection made it a stressful and uncomfortable experience. For me, the modern approaches were more relaxed, but felt impersonal. After talking to my friends & family, I discovered that we were a generation of British Asians who had successfully nurtured our careers but were finding it difficult to replicate this in our personal life. In fact, we could be branded as 'a generation of Asians without a blueprint' when it comes to our marital future, which in short lead to the conception of Tantric Club.

How did you come up with the name? It certainly conjures up image of ermm of a shall we say a naughty nature...

Well that's a good thing! At least it means you won't forget it in a hurry. Seriously though, the word Tantric is actually derived from Hinduism and one
of its' meanings is the 'meeting of mind, body & soul'. And if you think about it, when we meet that special someone, at first it is the meeting of mind, followed by body and ultimately the soul...

With all these dating businesses around, what makes Tantric Club different?

Tantric Club is managed by second-generation Asians, we have a good insight
into what our peers are looking for, when it comes to finding a partner. It's also all about meeting real people face-to-face. For example, all of our events are activity based, like learning how to salsa or quiz nights, which means that you can meet others in a fun, friendly and somewhat natural environment and interact without feeling awkward or self-conscious. You can also come alone confident in the fact that the activity gives you no choice but to mingle. And even if you look at our bespoke matchmaking service, you're only introduced to genuine people who are pre-vetted and meet your criteria.

So what success have you had to date?

One of our couples - Hetal Patel & Mira Magecha got engaged this June 2005!
And I'm sure there will be a few more engagements announced over the next
few months. We also have many couples dating and lots of people have made
friends and built up new social networks - something, which was disappearing
in their lives as their friends started partnering off and getting married.

So are you still single? And have you met anyone since starting Tantric Club?

Ha ha! I always get asked that. Yes I am still single - my life this past year has been focused on Tantric Club. But I have met some really really nice guys (clients), but the golden rule is 'don't mix business with pleasure'... Hmmmm but never say never hey? No comment (she says coyly)

So what advice can you give to our readers looking for lurrvvee?

Come to Tantric Club of course! Ok, like we didn't see that one coming...
